Military and family members from Fort George G. Meade, prepare to participate in a Pride Month 5K Color Run, June 28, 2023, at Fort Meade, Maryland. Sponsored by the 70th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing Diversity and Inclusion council, runners were doused in a rainbow of colored corn starch to show support of LGBTQ+ members and celebrate the culture of diversity and inclusion found within the wing. The Department of Defense observes Pride Month during the month of June to commemorate the riots that occurred in New York City in June 1969 that became the catalyst for the gay rights movement.
