  • Mental health: Pushing past the stigma

    The wellness of service members is a priority across the Department of the Air Force, yet mental health has remained one of the most challenging components. Each service has struggled with an increasing number of suicides since the mid-2000’s. In 2018, there were 103 suicides among Air Force personnel. Despite efforts to improve the situation, such as the Air-Force-wide stand down, that number increased to 137 in 2019. The root of this issue could be the misconceptions about seeking help and outcomes to careers.
  • Department of the Air Force launches Family Vector website

    The Department of the Air Force launched a new website today, giving Exceptional Family Member Program families direct access to decision-making information related to medical programs, assignments or other support resources. Service and family members can now obtain information without using a Common Access Card at the DAF Family Vector site at https://daffamilyvector.us.af.mil. There are several other platforms available for service members, but all require the CAC.
