The 55th Wing conducts a global flying mission providing worldwide reconnaissance, treaty verification, and agile combat support to national leadership and warfighters across the spectrum of conflict. The wing comprises five groups, 31 squadrons, and two detachments to execute missions from home base and operating locations around the world. Additionally, the wing partners with NSA, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, and the Royal Air Force to provide dominant ISR, employ attack capabilities, deliver secure and survivable command and control, enable national treaty verification activities, and provide global presidential support.   • Team Offutt announces Maintenance Professionals of the Year

    The 55th Maintenance Group and the 595th Command and Control Group held their 2019 Maintenance Professionals of the Year ceremonies Nov. 9. The events recognize the achievements of top performers from the maintenance career field who support and enable the mission.
  • Ribbon cutting ceremony held for new dormitory

    A ribbon cutting ceremony for Cobb Hall, one of installation’s four newly constructed dormitories, took place here Nov. 7, 2019. The new $18.8 million dormitory is named in honor of retired Chief Master Sgt. Lawrence A. Cobb.
  • Vaping, e-cigs: The danger is real

    As of Oct. 29, 2019, over 1,800 lung injury cases and 37 deaths have been reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the only commonality among all cases is the patient’s use of e-cigarette or vaping products.
