Colonel Kathryn E. Fitzgerald Col Kathryn E. Fitzgerald is the commander of the 480th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. She directs the worldwide intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) operations of six groups providing world-class ISR to combatant commanders, Combined/Joint Forces Air Component commanders, Numbered Air Force commanders and coalition forces. She is responsible for approximately 6,000 military, civilian and contractor personnel, and a total enterprise valued at more than $5 billion. Colonel Fitzgerald received her commission from Officer Training School in 2002. She is an intelligence officer with experience ranging across air, space, and cyberspace operations at the national, operational, and tactical levels. She is a 2008 graduate of the Intelligence Weapons Instructor Course, a graduated Air Force Fellow in the Strategic Policy Fellowship, and a graduated Secretary of Defense Executive Fellow with Cisco Systems, Inc. in San Jose, California. She served as a Director of Operations for cyber-based intelligence operations, Squadron Commander in cyberspace operations, Commander of a Cyber National Mission Force Joint Task Force, and Vice Commander for the 70th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Wing. She has worked in joint environments for multiple staff and operations assignments, and she has deployments analyzing and applying intelligence in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Horn of Africa. Prior to her current assignment, she served as the Executive Assistant to the Commander, U.S. Cyber Command at Fort George G. Meade, MD. Colonel Fitzgerald is married to Lieutenant Colonel Andrew J. Maus, who is assigned to ACC IG.
