The 480th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Wing at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, provides a comprehensive set of ISR capabilities for the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS), as well as the national cryptologic, information technology, cyber ISR, tactical analysis, Combined Forces Air Component Commander (CFACC)-support, and national-to-tactical signals intelligence integration. The wing comprises six groups, 23 squadrons, and three detachments operating in four locations. 

The 480th ISRW is functionally aligned to span the full spectrum of ISR operations, from humanitarian assistance to major theater conflict, leveraging federated mission partners to synchronize timely, relevant intelligence regionally aligned to support combatant command operations.

    In a letter dated Aug. 29, 2018, the Secretary of the Air Force, CSAF and the Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force explained their desire to empower commanders at all levels to use their best judgement when making decisions to accomplish the mission.

  • February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

    February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month Nearly 26% women and 15% of men in the U.S. will experience physical, sexual, or emotional abuse from someone they’re in a relationship with before they become adults, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In order to spread awareness of these staggering statistics, February has been appointed as Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. The month-long campaign focuses on advocacy and education to stop dating abuse before it starts.
