Colonel NATHAN L. RUSIN

Col Nathan L. Rusin is the commander of the 480th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. He directs the worldwide intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) operations of six groups providing world-class ISR to combatant commanders, Combined/Joint Forces Air Component commanders, Numbered Air Force commanders and coalition forces. He is responsible for approximately 6,000 military, civilian and contractor personnel, and a total enterprise valued at more than $5 billion.
 
Col Rusin received his commission in 1998 as a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School, National Defense Intelligence College, and the U.S. Naval War College.  He is a career intelligence officer with assignments at the squadron, group, and Air Staff levels and has led Airmen as, the Director of Operations for the Joint Exploitation Squadron at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; an Instructor and then Commander of the 19th Weapons Squadron at Nellis AFB, Nevada; and Chief, ISR Division 603d AOC at Ramstein AB, Germany. He also supported contingency operations for Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, NOMAD SHADOW, and INHERENT RESOLVE.
 
Prior to assuming his current position, he was the Commander, 693d ISR Group, Ramstein AB, Germany, where he led ISR operations for the Russia-Ukraine Crisis with near-real time production for allies and partners.
