Colonel Michael J. Winter

Colonel Michael J. Winter is the Deputy Commander, 67th Cyberspace Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. The wing presents combat cyberspace capabilities to the Service, United States Cyber Command, and the Joint Force. In this capacity, the wing acts as the Air Forces Cyber execution arm for conducting global cyberspace operations. Additionally, the wing provides organic operations training, cyber capability development, operational testing, and range capabilities to drive readiness across the Cyber Mission Force. Colonel Winter assists the Commander in leading more than 3,000 Airmen, civilians, and contract personnel across four operations groups with 19 squadrons, four detachments, and one center located across seven locations worldwide.   
 
Colonel Winter received his commission from Officer Training School in 1999. He has completed various operational and staff assignments including squadron command, and positions on the Air Staff and Joint Staff. Prior to his current assignment, Col Winter served as the Sixteenth Air Force (Air Forces Cyber) Chief of Future Operations (A35), responsible for conducting Information Warfare planning to recommend outcomes to the Sixteenth Air Force Commander that gain or regain the initiative in the information environment supporting Combatant Command and Air Component Commander priority influence objectives.
