Wu migrates to U.S. from China

Xiaoyang Wu leans against a dragon statue in July of 1997 at Beijing University, China. At age 10 he moved to New York with his mother where he learned English and eventually joined the Air Force as an enlisted recruit. During his enlistment, Wu earned a computer science degree allowing him to receive a scholarship to Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC). Now 1st Lt. Wu is a Joint Mission Operations Center watch officer for the 367th Cyberspace Operations Squadron, at JBSA-Lackland, Texas.
