547th Night Fighter Squadron honored with WWII plaque dedication

547th Intelligence Squadron personnel from Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, pose next to the newly dedicated plaque to the 547th Night Fighter Squadron, during a ceremony, Sept. 18, 2023 at Meadows Field Airport in Bakersfield, Calif. The 547 NFS received training in the Northrop P-61 Black Widow. They were the last military flying unit that trained for the night fighter mission at Meadows Field Airport (previously Kern County Airport).
