The 688th Cyberspace Wing, headquartered at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, is aligned under Sixteenth Air Force (Air Forces Cyber), Air Combat Command. The wing is the Air Force's premier cyberspace warfighting organization dedicated to delivering actionable intelligence and tactics, techniques, and procedures, deployable warfighter communications, engineering and installation capabilities, defensive cyber operations, and network security operations across the Air Force Information Network enterprise.

Mission: Engineer, build, operate, secure, defend and extend the Air Force cyberspace domain to enable and assure Air Force core missions and the Joint fight.

  • 690th Cyberspace Operations Group transfers authority

    The 690th Cyberspace Operations Group Commander and 688th Cyberspace Wing A2/A3 Director held their Change of Command Ceremony June 29, 2021 at Arnold Hall, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Col. Kevin Kirsch transferred command to Col. Billy Pope. Col. Steven Anderson, 688th Cyberspace Wing commander presided over the ceremony.
  • 688th Cyberspace Wing command team engages Civil Air Patrol cadets

    The 688th Cyberspace Wing command team visited with the Civil Air Patrol Lackland Cadet Squadron to speak with cadets about the U.S. Air Force, Cyber and deliver ABUs donated by Wing members June 28. 2021 at Port San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas. Col. Steven Anderson, 688th Cyberspace Wing commander and Command Chief Master Sgt. Jeffery Glawe, spoke with cadets about their experience in the military, toured the Squadron’s facilities and discussed partnership opportunities with the Civil Air Patrol--a total force partner.
  • Air Forces Cyber participate in historical Fiesta Tech Trek

    Sixteenth Air Force/Air Forces Cyber , 688th Cyberspace Wing and the 67th Cyberspace Wing s collaborated for the 2021 Fiesta Virtual Tech Trek June 22, 2021 at the 67th Cyberspace Wing Public Affairs Studio, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas. Representatives from 16th Air Force, Air Force Personnel Center, Air force Life Cycle Management Center, Air Force Recruiting Service, the 688th Cyberspace Wing and the 67th Cyberspace Wing spoke about their respective organizations and opportunities to other governmental organizations, the city of San Antonio, NSA - National Security Agency Texas and STEM students.

  • 85th EIS leads $1.2 million air traffic control tower project

    The 85th Engineering Installation Squadron was requested by the 72nd Operations Support Squadron to relocate an existing Air Traffic Control tower equipment into a new tower as part of a $1.2 million modernization project at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla.
