Colonel John W. Picklesimer

Colonel John W. Picklesimer is the Commander, 67th Cyberspace Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. In this role Colonel Picklesimer leads more than 3,000 Airmen, civilians, and contract personnel across four operations groups with 19 squadrons at 10 locations worldwide. He ensures the readiness and employment of Airmen to conduct network operations, defense, attack, and exploitation in service of the Air Force, combatant commands, and national agencies. The 67 CW develops, trains, exercises and tests information operations tactics, techniques and procedures; analyzes and mitigates U.S. cyberspace vulnerabilities; and integrates emerging information dominance capabilities for the warfighter. Operationally, the wing acts as Air Forces Cyber’s execution arm for generating, projecting, and sustaining combat power with the employment of the Network Attack System and the Cyberspace Vulnerability Assessment/Hunt weapon systems.     
                                                
Colonel Picklesimer earned his commission in 2001 through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida. He is a career Communications and Cyber Warfare Officer with assignments in deployable communications, network analysis, planning, staff, and operations. He served as the Director of Operations for the 92nd Information Operations Squadron and the commander of the 91st Cyberspace Operations Squadron at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Additionally, his planning and staff experience includes assignments at Thirteenth Air Force, Pacific Air Forces and U.S. Air Force headquarters staff.
 
Prior to his current assignment, Colonel Picklesimer was the Commander, 67th Cyberspace Operations Group, JBSA-Lackland, Texas.
