Chief Master Sergeant BRANDON BITLER Chief Master Sergeant Brandon A. Bitler is Command Chief, Air Force Technical Applications Center, Patrick Space Force Base, Fla. He advises the AFTAC wing commander on matters concerning the readiness, utilization, training, morale, and welfare of the 1,100-member center and its 14 detachments around the globe in support of AFTAC’s international nuclear treaty monitoring activities. AFTAC operates and maintains the United States Atomic Energy Detection System to monitor foreign compliance with various treaties limiting nuclear testing. AFTAC is also the designated U.S. laboratory system that provides technical support to the United Nations’ International Atomic Energy Agency. Prior to his selection as AFTAC’s Command Chief, Chief Bitler served as the Senior Enlisted Leader, Air Force Global Strike Command Headquarters, Barksdale Air Force Base, La. In his capacity, he advised the Chief of Staff on the development and implementation of policy to the commanding general’s staff, 24 headquarters directorates, and the chiefs of special staff across all functional specialties, directly supporting global operations, force development, combat capabilities, resourcing and manpower allocations to meet joint warfighter requirements for 12 wings. He also maintained oversight of all matters regarding the readiness, training, force utilization, health, welfare, and professional development of 1,200 headquarters personnel. Chief Bitler enlisted in the Air Force in October 2002. He completed Airborne Communication Electronic Specialist Course technical training graduating in June 2003 and has held a variety of career enlisted aviator and Air Force leadership roles as an instructor, evaluator, noncommissioned officer-in-charge, flight chief, formal schoolhouse instructor, operations superintendent and senior enlisted leader. He has deployed in support of numerous combat operations, including Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, Resolute Support, Freedom Sentinel, and Allies Refuge
