NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- Col. Melissa Stone, 363d ISR Wing commander, presented Master Sgt. Zachary H., 547th IS operations superintendent, with a surprise impact, Air Force Commendation Medal for outstanding achievement, June 14.

From Nov. 1, 2018 to March 1, 2019, Zachary led the renovation and modernization efforts to bring the U.S. Air Force’s only threat training facility to meet the needs of today’s warfighters.

Zachary rallied a team of talented Airmen, and partnered with the Missile and Space Intelligence Center to create the first classified surface-to-air missile simulator installed for use as a training lab.

Additionally, he led a space utilization effort that converted collateral space into secure working areas that will host three additional simulators, providing an integrated and layered threat emulation capability which had not previously existed in the Department of Defense.

Furthermore, he launched a virtual reality project, allowing exercise environments previously only seen in the Nellis area and constrained by physical limitations, to now reach Air Force training audiences on a global scale.
